This is the greatest novel by a French writer, Alexandre Dumas. The adventures take place in France, Italy and the Mediterranean Islands. This novel is about the adventures of the second captain of a trade ship, Edmond Dantes. Edmond goes to the island of Elbe on the request of the first captain of his ship. As a result of his success, Edmond is promised to be made the first captain of the next voyage. He will marry his lover and see his father. However, a long adventure awaits Edmond ; because, he has to defend himself against enemies such as his cousin Fernand and his friend Danglars to be happy. The themes of hope, justice, vengeance, mercy, forgiveness and death are the elements of this adventure story. With its Audio CD it improves your pronounciation, too.
